Finally, the last of Ruiz`s agreements should reassure the minds of those who spend their time worrying about being perfect. In the Christian faith, the Apostle Paul reminds his successors that it is far more important to do their best than to be constantly compared to their fellow men. The fourth agreement relieves the pressure to always be blameless and makes it acceptable for us, as human beings, to have our mistakes as long as we try to be the best thing we can do. You have completely missed the value of Ruiz`s book. It`s really not as self-centered as you say, in fact, in one of the chapters, it says it`s a form of self-absorption when you make assumptions because you assume it`s all about you. I don`t see how a man who encourages us to be people of integrity and work hard is a magician. Your comments make you look like a religious fanatic. While it`s good to distinguish new-age literature, it`s also important that you see the value in there, at least it`s more inclusive than Christianity. Nothing in New Age philosophy avoids other beliefs, while the Bible condemns gay marriages, among other things condemns the time she spent with non-disciples. My last review was 12 Rules For Life by Jordan B Peterson.
I think it`s a great book, but when I put it on the shelf, I remembered that so Peterson`s advice is that the basis is always based on principles. It confused me for a while when my mind and heart struggled with the main base to change their lives. Then I spied on Don Miguel Ruiz`s four chords on my shelf almost next to my newcomer. Agreements, yes, I remembered reading the Four Accords years ago and found the concept of agreements inspiring as an approach to the journey of life and relationships from the point of view of agreements and not principles. So I reread the book and here is my review. I hope you like it. Ruiz encourages us to get used to these four agreements. Make it a goal and realize that it will take a lot of effort on our side. He admits that there will be times when we do not live according to the four agreements. Learn and be honest with yourself through the process. .
